Rheinland-Pfalz is an established international, successful, future-oriented business location. Hidden champions and globally operating companies ensure a healthy industry mix and high value creation. The innovative, medium-sized structured economy and the intermeshing of business and science are guarantors of the state’s global competitiveness. In addition to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, there are four further industries that dominate the economy: the automotive, metal, mechanical engineering and food industries. Additionally, a diverse cultural landscape creates an attractive living area in Germany’s top wine region. The Italian company Italpannelli develops and manufactures sandwich panels and sheet panels for industrial and cold-store construction, for example. With an additional production facility in Rheinland-Pfalz it was possible to develop the German and Benelux market. With hands-on support from ISB, GTAI and the Industriepark Region Trier (IRT), the company found its ideal site with expansion possibilities in the IRT in Föhren. So far, Italpannelli has invested 25 million euros in the facility and created around 60 new jobs. As a result of the positive development, a second production line could be put into operation after a very short time.
