About Rheinland-Pfalz

Rheinland-Pfalz is an established international, successful, future-oriented business location. Hidden champions and globally operating companies ensure a healthy industry mix and high value creation. The innovative, medium-sized structured economy and the intermeshing of business and science are guarantors of the state’s global competitiveness. In addition to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, there are four further industries that dominate the economy: the automotive, metal, mechanical engineering and food industries. Additionally, a diverse cultural landscape creates an attractive living area in Germany’s top wine region. Here, people’s lifestyles are characterised by a lively culture and openness.

  1. Innovation location: ‘German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence’
  2. Quick approval processes, short routes, close together
  3. Openness and a zest for life: cordial, welcoming, positively different

Reasons for Rheinland-Pfalz

The combination of modern life and tradition with innovation, zest for life, openness and viniculture are all reasons for the unique image of Rheinland-Pfalz.

The very strong medium-sized structured economy, with many family-owned companies and an export rate that is far above average, compared to the other federal states, is highly competitive on the global market, not least because of its innovation capability.

This, coupled with tourism highlights such as four World Heritage Sites and being the number one wine region in Germany, makes Rheinland-Pfalz attractive, rich in contrast, authentic and timelessly modern.

Success Story

The Italian company Italpannelli develops and manufactures sandwich panels and sheet panels for industrial and cold-store construction, for example. With an additional production facility in Rheinland-Pfalz it was possible to develop the German and Benelux market. With hands-on support from ISB, GTAI and the Industriepark Region Trier (IRT), the company found its ideal site with expansion possibilities in the IRT in Föhren. So far, Italpannelli has invested 25 million euros in the facility and created around 60 new jobs. As a result of the positive development, a second production line could be put into operation after a very short time.

The ISB provides information about the economy and infrastructure in the state, provides site offers, supports investors, and assists entrepreneurs who have questions about the location. The ISB Location Finder offers an overview of available spaces. Customers are offered an extensive service. When it comes to project realisation, the ISB takes on the role of a navigator for the investor in order to ensure a smooth process right up to deciding on a location.
